Our sweet GGLiz. GG just recently had knee replacement surgery on both of her knees, so we decided to go see her in Raleigh for July 4th. We had such a great time, and as you can see Haylee loves her so much. She doesn't just sit still for anyone. :)
And if you don't know what GG stands for it's Great Godmother. She's Haylee's stand in Grandma since my mom is so far away.
Face it....the girl is a diva and LOVES sunglasses. She grabs mine any chance she can get and puts them on. But unfortunately when I try to buy her baby sunglasses that fit her face...she won't get near them and will throw them down if I put them on her.
I made so much food for July 4th. Since my Grandma had eye surgery, she can't cook and My Aunt who had knee surgery can't cook, and well Solon WON'T cook haha so it was all left up to me. And I dont know about anyone else, but it is so much easier to cook in someone elses kitchin. As you can see in this picture I made, cupcakes, sausage and cream cheese biscuits and home made mac and cheese. We also had baked beans, sheperds pie, chicken on the grill and green bean casserole. Whew, that makes me tired just listing it all again. Of course it was different meals of the day...so I didn't have to make it all at once, but still...IT'S ALOT OF FOOD which also means a lot of dishes.
I guess every child develops a favorite character. Mine as a kid was Winnie the Pooh, with Minnie at a close second. I think it's great that Haylee chose Minnie. I was so excited when I found these pj's in her size at Walmart. Usually the character pajamas only come in Toddler sizes, but I saw this and had to get it. She wore it like three nights after this...I guess I will have to make another trip to Walmart soon. :)
I hope everyone enjoyed there Holiday. My parents who are in Germany, said that their celebration not only included american soldiers and families, but the German community came out in their Red White and Blue attire. I thought that was really neat.
We should be proud to be Americans! There's no other country like ours. And I am so thankful for those who keep us safe and are fighting for our freedom. God bless America!
