So yesterday Haylee had her 18 month doctors appt. She was excited that morning beacuse Mommy doesn't usually take her to the babysitters and well that's where she thought we were going. So she was pretty excited, as you can see.
Well then we got to this strange yet familiar place. She must of been thinking well this isn't the babysitters, but I have been here before. It must be okay. And when she found the doctor tissue paper, she was as content as can be. Tearing it, balling it up and throwing it across the room. This was pretty exciting to pass the time until the doctor came in.
We also read books while we waited...it seemed like it took forever for the doctor to come. It always seems that way. (And as you can see, the paper is still intact in these pictures because I didn't want evidence that my child was the one who made the big mess in the "African" room.) Our doctors office has a theme to each room.
Well finally the doctor comes in. Checks Haylees ears, eyes, mouth, belly and a few other things. Asks some questions about food and nutrtion and that sort of thing and then we are done. Or so Haylee thinks. But next comes the part she really doesn't like...
We had to get one shot AND get her finger pricked. :( This part always breaks my heart. But once it is all done, she gets a sticker and we are on our way, crying all the way to the car.
I think it went fairly well.
But anyway, I dont feel like I have done an update about new things Haylee is doing in a long time and 18 months is a pretty big milestone. So here goes...
1. She now ways 24 lbs!! (she is a good eater)
2. She is 34 inches long
3. I can't remember her head circumference, but she her head size is healthy!
4. Her hemoglobin is still low, but is much higher than the last time they tested, so we are still doing a multi-vitamin.
5. She can follow directions very well. If you tell her to go to another room to get a certain thing, she comes back with it. It's pretty neat to me how much she understands.
6. She can count to 10...or well she can say 2 8 and 10 while I count to 10.
7. She can say A, B, and sometimes C. But she really likes B so most of the time I can't get her past it.
8. She can say please or "pweease" and thankyou.
9. She can say Solon's name...."solwen" is how it comes out. (Probably because I say it so much, she can even say it in the same tone of voice hehe)
10. She gives kisses (actual kisses) and makes the mmmmwaa sound. It is SOO sweet.
11. She can say her blessing before meals, she says God...and then trys to sneak her food while we finish the prayer. She does attempt to fold her hands too but her attention spand doesn't like very long. She has a longer attention spand for night-time prayers.
12. We are trying to potty train..she can even say the word potty but she will only sit on the potty if her clothes are on, although the first time she did go number 2 right away, it was just a tease I guess.
13. She can say several animal names and make their sounds. Like Cow, Kitty-cat, Doggy, Turtle (no sound with that one), Monkey..and a few others.
14. She can almost jump...she tries so hard and it's so fun to watch but there's just one toe that doesn't make it off the ground.
15. She can point up and say Jesus.
16. She runs...really fast...in circles!!
17. She is a size 24 months and there a few 2T things we just got that she can wear, but they are a little big.
18. She says sorry..."sowee" If she does something she's not supposed to and I tell her she's going to time-out, she will give me a hug and say sorry. I just can't bare to put her in timeout after that. But when she does go to timeout she will also get up and say sorry, AND she actually sits the whole minute in time-out. Now don't think she goes into time-out all of the time...but it's the only way we could get her to stop biteing. It works!
19. She is almost a size 6 in shoes! She can wear a 5 now but her toes are at the end.
20. Her Mommy and Daddy love her more than anything in this world!
